The purpose for this assessment plan is to track your progress and provide better learning opportunities for my students. The assessment plan helps me look at where students are having difficulty understanding the essential question in this unit thus I can think of new ways to aid their understanding. As students are assessed throughout the unit it will help prepare them for the next activity and motivate critical thinking. Students will complete three different types of assessments to measure their comprehension level on key aspects and events about The New Age of Imperialism. The entry level assessment will let me know how informative students are on the subject and determine whether to make changes in the unit. The formative assessments made up of class discussions and activities will allow me to observe the progress of student learning. Finally the summative assessment which consists of a Newspaper project that demonstrate the students' knowledge of the subject and how well they can communicate the concept.
