By the end of this unit, students will be able to understand Imperialism in the 19th century. They will be able to identify Imperialist powers' motives for colonizing smaller countries and analyze primary source documents from both the imperialist and colonized perspectives. students will be able to determine who benefitted the most and who lost in Imperialism. They will understand that a recurring pattern exists when a country became overruled by another and can describe these patterns in writing and discussion. By the end of the unit students will have an idea of how Imperialism was acted out and how it affected India and the African continent.
